PerformCare® Awarded Full Managed Behavioral Health Organization Accreditation by NCQA

NCQA seal for full Managed Behavioral Health Organization (MBHO) Accreditation

For a seventh consecutive time, PerformCare, part of the AmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies, has earned full Managed Behavioral Health Organization (MBHO) Accreditation for its Pennsylvania business from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). The full-service managed behavioral health care organization achieved a score of 99.59 out of 100.

“We focus on providing excellent service, and this high score demonstrates we are achieving that,” said Jim Laughman, M.S.W, L.S.W., president of PerformCare. “For example, PerformCare undertook several initiatives to expand services for high needs children on the autism spectrum. By training providers in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), which is an evidence-based practice, the member’s clinical outcomes improved.”

In response to the increase in opioid use, PerformCare worked with substance use providers to increase access to medication assistance treatment in rehabilitation facilities. In addition, the plan has two quality initiatives designed to improve access to Certified Recovery Specialists and children’s family-based mental health services.

The accreditation covers PerformCare’s programs for HealthChoices, Pennsylvania’s Medicaid managed care program, in Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Fulton, Lancaster, Lebanon, and Perry counties. This is a designation the company also received in 2006, 2009, 2012, 2015, 2018 and 2021.
